Orthopedic Splint White/Blue 2″x15′
Product Overview/Technical Specification:The Orthopedic Splint is a device used for support or immobilization of a limb. It is intended for use in post-surgical procedures and acute trauma treatment of fractures, sprains, soft tissue injuries, etc. The Orthopedic Splint consists of multiple layers (8) of a knitted fiberglass substrate impregnated with a water activated polyurethane resin. Exposure of the splint to moisture or water initiates a chemical reaction which causes the splint to become rigid (set time is approximately 3?5 minutes). The product has two distinct surface layers; the non-patient side (marked as ?outside?) is a hydrophilic polypropylene material while the patient side (white) is a hydrophobic polypropylene material. The materials do not shrink as they become rigid.
